POS system with floor plan and order pad Taking orders at the table.
On any device.

In service, every step counts. With VidiPOS you take orders right where the guest sits: tap the table in the plan, choose items, answer follow-up questions, set the course. The order is in the till immediately, and every device on that till works from the same state.

Floor plan: rooms and tables as in your venue

The floor plan shows your rooms and tables as they are laid out in your venue – for example terrace and hall. At a glance you see which tables are free, which are occupied and which are ready to be billed. Tapping a table opens its order pad.

You set through permissions whether an operator may also see or edit their colleagues’ tables. You switch the floor plan on or off in the back office, for example if you only take payments at the counter.

Order pad with courses

In the order pad you collect the items of a table. Each item belongs to a course: starter, main course, dessert or “Immediately / no course”, for example for drinks. The suggested course comes from the product group; staff can change it on the item.

This way you take the whole menu in one go and fire the next course when the kitchen is ready. You create your courses yourself in the back office and put them in the order that suits your menu.

Items with options

Items are sorted by product group as tabs on the till, as colour or photo tiles. If an item has follow-up questions, the till asks them one after another: side, cooking level, size or toppings. For each question you decide whether it is required and how many answers are allowed.

  • Options with no price, with a surcharge, or as a variant that replaces the price
  • Variants such as beer 0.3 l and 0.5 l in one item
  • Follow-up questions: the steak then asks for the cooking level, up to five levels deep
  • Miscellaneous items where staff enter the name and price
  • Track stock: at stock 0, an item counts as sold out

Notes, quick notes and favourites

Staff attach special requests directly to the item. For common messages to the kitchen there are quick notes such as “no onions” or “extra sauce” – one tap, done. A quick note applies everywhere or only to one product group, so only matching notes appear.

Whatever is ordered often, you mark with a star as a favourite in the back office; it then appears at the top of the till. The item report suggests which items are worth making favourites.

Swarm mode: several devices on one till

In VidiPOS, a till is the recording system with its own TSE and its own closing. Several devices take orders on it at once – swarm mode (several devices on one till at once): the tablet at the bar, the phones on the floor. All work from the same state, every device sees every table, and two colleagues can add to the same table.

One till is usually enough for one location. A second till makes sense if an area settles up separately, for example a separate bar with its own accounts.

Takeaway

If a guest takes something away, you ring it up as takeaway. You store the tax rates for eat-in and takeaway on the product group; only items that differ get their own rates. Who may ring up takeaway is set in the permissions, like everything else.
