POS system for beer gardens and terraces Many tables, long distances.
Every phone takes orders.

In a beer garden the distances are long and the tables many, and on sunny days everything arrives at once. With VidiPOS you take orders on your phone right at the table, the order goes to the pass as a ticket, and several devices work on one till. If the internet goes down, service carries on.

What is different outdoors

Outdoors, the operation is spread out. Between the tap and the farthest table lie many metres, and in good weather everything fills up at once. Service therefore needs a device in hand rather than a fixed spot at the counter. And because the network outdoors is not equally good everywhere, the till has to be able to cope with an outage.

Phones as input devices in swarm mode

The VidiPOS app runs on Android and iOS, on the tablet at the tap just as on the phone in the garden. All devices take orders on the same till; they are input devices without their own accounts. Every device sees every table, and all work from the same state. They connect to the till via Wi-Fi or mobile network.

You pair a new phone with a code from the back office. If one is lost, you block it with one click; after that it can no longer log in.

Tickets at the pass

As soon as staff send an order, VidiPOS prints a separate ticket for each station. Besides kitchen and bar there is the pass station. In the back office you assign it the product groups that are finished at the pass. The ticket shows station and table in large print, below them operator, time, items and notes.

The app talks to the receipt printer directly on your venue network. So for a phone to print tickets, it has to be on the venue’s Wi-Fi. Plan the Wi-Fi so that it reaches the tables.

Offline mode during an outage

If the internet goes down, service carries on. You keep taking orders on all devices and take cash payments on the main device of the till. The receipt printer on the local network prints the tickets as usual.

Because the TSE is in the cloud, transactions are not signed in offline mode. The receipts therefore carry an outage note, and VidiPOS logs the outage. As soon as the connection is back, the app syncs everything automatically. Card payments and the Z report need a connection.

Tables, bill and card

In the floor plan you create your areas as rooms, for example garden, terrace and hall. If everyone at the table pays for their own, you split the bill by item. A SumUp Solo connects to the SumUp cloud via Wi-Fi or mobile network, not via Bluetooth to the tablet. This way the guest at the back table can pay by card too.

The right plan: VidiPOS Gastro or Bar

If you serve food in courses, use VidiPOS Gastro for €59 net plus VAT per till and month. Without a menu sequence, VidiPOS Bar for €55 net plus VAT is enough. Both include three devices; you add more phones for €19.90 net a month each, cancellable monthly. On top come €199 net per till and year for cloud TSE, fiscal compliance & digital receipt.

You can move up to a higher plan at any time; a smaller plan applies from the next term. Your data is kept. All prices are on the pricing page.
