What counts at the café counter
At the counter, guest follows guest. One drinks their coffee at their seat, the next takes rolls and cake away. Payment is immediate, sometimes cash, sometimes card, sometimes with a voucher. What you need here is a till without detours: tap items, take payment, receipt out.
Quick till on one device
The counter till is the quick till of VidiPOS. It runs on exactly one device, a tablet or a phone, and needs no floor plan. Items are ready sorted by product group as colour or photo tiles, favourites at the top. Sizes such as small and large you combine as variants in one item.
Receipts, cash book, X and Z reports, TSE and export are included in the counter till just as in the other plans.
Eat-in or takeaway
If a guest takes something away, you ring it up as takeaway. You store the tax rates for eat-in and takeaway on the product group; only items that differ get their own rates. The till then calculates with the matching rate, and the receipt shows the tax per rate. Which rates apply to your items, you clarify with your tax adviser.
Vouchers, card and digital receipt
You redeem vouchers directly when paying. For card payments you pair a SumUp Solo or a Stripe Smart Reader; the amount goes straight to the reader, and the guest holds card or phone against it.
After payment, the till shows a QR code. The guest scans it and has the receipt on their phone, to print or as a PDF. If they prefer paper, they get the receipt from the receipt printer, which sits on your venue network via LAN or Wi-Fi.
Closing time at the counter
Money that enters or leaves the till without a sale, you book as a cash movement, for example a purchase with a till receipt. At the Z report you count the cash by notes and coins; the till compares the total with the expected amount and books any difference as a cash difference. VidiPOS keeps the cash book on the side.
The right plan: counter till
The counter till costs €29.90 net plus VAT per till and month, with exactly one device. On top come €199 net per till and year for cloud TSE, fiscal compliance & digital receipt. Floor plan, courses, split bills, discounts and reservations are not included.
If you also serve tables, for example in a café with table service, take VidiPOS Gastro or VidiPOS Bar. You can move up to a higher plan at any time; a smaller plan applies from the next term. Your data is kept. All prices are on the pricing page.
