Mobile POS system for food trucks Till on board.
Wherever you park.

In a food truck, space is tight and the location changes: one day the farmers’ market, the next a festival. The VidiPOS counter till runs on a tablet or phone and gets its internet via mobile network or a hotspot. If the connection drops, you keep taking cash.

What counts on the road

On the road there is no fixed counter and often no Wi-Fi. The till has to fit in one hand, be ready quickly and cope with whatever network is available at the location. Guests queue, pay straight away and want their receipt, preferably without paper.

Counter till on tablet or phone

The counter till runs on exactly one device, a tablet or a phone, on Android or iOS. Items are ready as colour or photo tiles, favourites are at the top, and you combine sizes as variants in one item. If you track stock, an item counts as sold out at stock 0.

The device goes online via mobile network or another device’s hotspot. If a guest takes their food away, you ring it up as takeaway; you store the tax rates on the product group.

Card payments with the SumUp Solo

The SumUp Solo has its own connection: it connects to the SumUp cloud via Wi-Fi or mobile network, not via Bluetooth to the tablet. Staff tap “Card”, the amount appears on the reader, and the guest holds card or phone against it. The Solo also accepts girocard.

Because VidiPOS talks to SumUp over the internet, the till also needs a connection for card payments. If it drops mid-payment, the app resumes the payment without charging twice.

Receipt without paper

After payment, the till shows a QR code. The guest scans it and has the receipt on their phone, to print or as a PDF. If you want to issue paper receipts, VidiPOS prints to a network receipt printer that sits on the same network as the till via LAN or Wi-Fi. VidiPOS does not currently support Bluetooth printers.

Offline mode and closing on the road

If the network goes down, you keep taking cash. In the counter till, your only device is also the main device of the till. Transactions in offline mode are not signed, the receipts carry an outage note, and VidiPOS logs the outage. As soon as the connection is back, the app syncs everything automatically.

Card payments and the Z report need a connection. So you close the day as soon as the network is back. When the business day rolls over, you set for each till.

The right plan: counter till

The counter till costs €29.90 net plus VAT per till and month, with exactly one device. On top come €199 net per till and year for cloud TSE, fiscal compliance & digital receipt. Floor plan, courses, split bills, discounts and reservations are not included; card payments, offline mode and cash book are.

If you later need more than one device, you switch to VidiPOS Bar or Gastro; your data stays. All prices are on the pricing page.
