Features

POS on tablet and phone with offline mode Tablet, phone, team.
Even without internet.

VidiPOS runs as an app on Android and iOS, on the tablet at the bar just as on the phone on the floor. Several devices take orders on one till, and each team member logs in with their own PIN. If the internet goes down, service carries on.

Android and iOS, tablet and phone

One app for both systems: you use the devices that suit your business. The tablet sits at the bar, the phones move around the floor. All take orders on the same till with its TSE and its closing, every device sees every table, and all work from the same state.

Pairing devices

You connect a new device in a few steps. In the back office you generate a pairing code for the till, in the app you tap “Pair device” and enter it. The code is valid once, for exactly one device and only for a few minutes.

In the device list you see platform, model, app version and when a device was last active. If a phone is lost or replaced, you block it with one click; after that it can no longer log in.

Operators with PIN

Everyone who books at the till is an operator with their own PIN of four to six digits. Every transaction in the journal carries their name. VidiPOS does not store the PIN in plain text and never shows it again; anyone who forgets it gets a new one.

  • After five wrong attempts, the operator is locked out for 15 minutes
  • After 15 minutes of inactivity, the login ends by itself
  • Temporary staff without an account of their own you simply create freely
  • Operators are never deleted, only deactivated – so the journal stays complete

Roles and permissions

What someone may do at the till is determined by their role. Every function has its own permission: take orders, cancel, give discounts, move cash, close. To start with, there are three templates – service, shift manager and owner – which you then adapt freely.

If an operator lacks a permission, for example for a reversal after sending, a shift manager approves exactly that action with their PIN on the same device. The journal records who booked and who approved.

Offline mode during an internet outage

If the network in your venue goes down, service carries on. You keep taking orders on all devices and take cash payments on the main till device. The receipt printer on the local network prints the receipt as usual, because the app talks to it directly.

Because the TSE is in the cloud, transactions are not signed in offline mode. The receipts therefore carry an outage note, and VidiPOS logs the outage with start and cause. As soon as the connection is back, the app sends the transactions on and syncs everything automatically.

What needs a connection

Some things only work online: card payments, because the reader runs through the provider’s cloud, and the Z report. Cash movements such as deposits and withdrawals are also booked only with a connection. So you close the day as soon as the network is back.
